1. Research, not an offering
AlphaStone is a personal quantitative research project. The public website is a research record and does not offer interests in a fund, managed account, security, or investment strategy. Nothing on the public site is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice.
2. Market and trading risk
Trading and investing involve substantial risk, including the possible loss of all capital. Market conditions, liquidity, leverage, financing costs, technology failures, execution differences, and other factors can cause results to differ materially from research estimates.
3. Backtest limitations
Backtested results are hypothetical. They are produced from historical data and assumptions about costs, spreads, slippage, liquidity, financing, margin, liquidation, and execution. No simulation can fully reproduce live markets. Results may also be affected by data errors, selection bias, look-ahead bias, survivorship bias, or overfitting despite efforts to control them.
4. Live-result limitations
When results from the author's own live account are published, they are labeled separately from backtests. A personal account may differ from another account because of timing, size, costs, instruments, restrictions, and execution. Published live results do not imply that another person could obtain the same outcome.
5. AI-assisted research
AI is used as part of the research process, not as a guarantee of correctness or profitability. AI-generated hypotheses, code, explanations, and evaluations can be incomplete or wrong. Human review and validation reduce some risks but cannot eliminate them.
6. No guarantee
Past performance, whether backtested or live, does not guarantee future results. A strategy may stop working, perform differently, or incur losses under conditions not present in the research period.
